Travel Photography | Destination Weddings + Elopements
One of the questions we get asked the most is, “Do you offer travel photography?” The answer is a big YES. As destination wedding photographers and videographers, adventure is in our blood and we rarely turn down an opportunity to combine our passions of travel + photography. Your destination wedding or elopement will most likely require some sort of travel and you’ll benefit if you invest in a travel photographer + videographer team with experience + expertise.

So what does travel photography actually mean?
For us, being a travel photographer for your destination wedding or elopement means deeper connection, community + relationship. It encompasses so much more than hopping on a plane and showing up somewhere cool. We invest our time, talent + energy into truly getting to know you and experiencing places that mean the most to you.
The location you choose for your photo session, destination wedding, or elopement says everything about who you are as individuals, as a couple, or as a family. It not only reflects your vision + vibe, it reflects your story.
We're here to tell that story.
Gotta hike four miles to reach the best views? We got our hiking boots.
Want to chase some waterfalls? We’ll grab some rain jackets.
Need to camp overnight in remote places? We love a good campfire talk.

Our Travel History
From Cheree:
My travel roots run deep. As a kid, I lived several years in Russia and Lithuania with my fam and have visited over 35 countries (many of which I’d love to go back and experience as an adult, especially now as a travel photographer). I later lived in Vienna, Austria, for a couple of years and then did my college internship in Madrid, Spain.
Travel is a huge part of who I am and has given me such a love for culture + humanity. To be a travel photographer (with my husband!) is a literal dream come true, and I could not be more grateful that God has blessed me to do what I do.
From Bryan:
Growing up, the extent of my travel was a yearly family camping adventure – some of the best times of my life. I knew I wanted to see more of the world, so I joined the Navy for a few years after high school. I then traveled for work, which is how I met (+ married) Cheree.
Our mutual love for travel photography has given us countless adventures + memories together. There’s a great big world out there, and we have a lifetime of exploring to go.
Destination Wedding vs Elopement vs...
So many options! What does it all mean and what are the differences?
The reality is, all of these wedding terms can overlap and look very different depending on the couple or the photographer. For The Wild Soul Films + Photo, here is how we break it down. Any size wedding can either be a local or destination wedding.
Elopement: 2 to 20 guest
Micro wedding: 21-50 guests
Traditional Wedding: 50+ guests.
A few common travel photography FAQ’s
When you inquire about travel photography, we will take into consideration the location + logistics of your wedding and let you know. Sometimes, all fees are built into the prices we send, but we will determine that once we have more details.
Either way, we will tell you any or all travel fees upfront so that there are no surprises anywhere along the way.
Not to worry – many of our travel photography sessions take place at locations or venues we’ve never been to before. We take pre-wedding measures to ensure we are fully capable and prepared to capture the day as smoothly as possible with no hiccups.
This includes research, reaching out to vendors ahead of time, and arriving early to familiarize ourselves with the area.
In the travel photography world, we know things can be unpredictable. If traveling far, we always plan to arrive a day or two early in case of canceled flights//road delays, inclement weather, or any other unforeseen circumstance.
We keep in communication and have backup plans in place in case of emergencies.
Pricing is based on coverage hours + deliverables rather than the size of the wedding. For example, a 10 guest destination elopement with all day coverage may cost more than a 100 guest local wedding with only partial day coverage. Specific pricing will be provided when we know the details of your wedding and what you are looking for.
